Okay, I made it back to your comment. I’m afraid that “a close friend being hit by a car” seems still like having a daughter is a horrible, negative shock. I can’t go with that. Having a daughter (in a perfect world) should be joyous news. Disappointment with the gender of a soon-to-be-your child spells all sorts of trouble for the little one. Still not feelin’ it for the dad.
